Coaching Saturday 9th January 2012 - Not Falling Off on Slopes!

Happy New Year to all our readers!  I hope you had a good time, as I certainly did.  I am now so fat that I'm taking this weekend off to go to a heath farm for a weekend of healthy living.......which means when I'm back I expect to see all those shiny new bikes just as shiny as they will be this week!  Make sure that if Dad does this task, you help......

This week we're doing getting off and on, but this time, in fairly tricky situations, such as what we call an "adverse camber".   This just means a slope that you can ride or run along, but is falling away from you so it's a bit tricky. We'll start with ordinary mount and dismounts on the flat before moving on to this.

More experienced riders should note that the Coaches will be asking you for more examples of areas for improvement from your racing or training experiences - this week, obviously about those tricky mounting and dismounting requirements that organisers put in.

Have a great time, sorry I can't be there, but I really am fat.  My wife is a professional cook - what chance have I got?

Best wishes, Tony Hodgson
