This week we end the formal road skills coaching before the Summer holidays with an assessment session. We will be riding the circuit in small groups like last Saturday.  We will practise our bunch skills again, but this time each group will go back to the centre for ten minutes so that one of the coaches can complete an assessment document with them (attached to this entry).  This will give each rider a personal assessment and action plan to improve their road riding this year.  The coaches will also be taking note of each rider's position on the bike as young people grow all the time and so we will be planning a session later in the year to update everyone's bike position.  Session is led by Tony Fawcett and myself.

The session plan is attached, as ever, additional coaches and helpers will be much appreciated to help the session go smoothly.

Our club ride from Meadowfield in Durham follows on the 18th, then we will have a couple of weeks break from coaching before offering some open sessions on the Saturday mornings in mid August. 

I would also like to give notice that adult riders from the Gosforth RC will be arriving around 12 noon for a Cycle Coaching North coaching session from 12.30 through to 2pm.  Older riders who want to help out and get some extra riding in will be welcome. The adult group will be doing cornering, climbing and descending and bunched riding - I'm sure our young riders can pass on a few tips!
